Hey guys,
It's been a few months since we last checked in, but with the new record so close that we can taste it, there seems to be no better time. The days are flying by down here in NYC thanks to a crazy work schedule and our preparations for the release of "This Planet Mercy". This multiple part-time job thing is taking its toll but there's always time to daydream, and time to plan for the 28N explosion that has been a long time in the making.
Last weekend Lowell and I flew up to Buffalo with our roommate Eric to mix some business and pleasure. On the serious side we met with producer Brent Bodrug to listen to some mixes of the five tracks that will be on the new EP. They are well on their way to being the undisputed best work that we've ever produced as band, and we're so proud and excited to show them to you. It will be a little while until we can have all the artwork pressed up with the disc, but hopefully we'll have new music for you all well in advance of the CD release. Make sure you check the website often so that you can get your hands on these new masterpieces!
While in the Buffalo area we also hung it out in our old college town of Fredonia, NY where we had a... "nice" time ;). We hung out with our favorite and only 28N bassist Kris, I got 10 frames of bowling in with Jake and Sully, and we caught up with many, many old friends. Thanks to Dave for hooking us up with a place to stay, for the free binge at Erie dining hall on Friday night, 40 Center for remaining party central, and thanks to everyone who made the whole weekend such an experience.
Now that we are back in the city there is more good news to report. Lowell and I played an acoustic show last weekend at Lunasa on the corner of St. Marks and 1st Ave. which went extremely well. We made some new friends, booked another show there on the 30th of the month, and will have more bookings in the near future. Again, stay tuned and keep coming back here to visit us and find out when and where the 28N shows will be!
Life is good, about to get better, and thanks so much to all of you our family and friends for hanging with us through this hiatus. We've been hard at work getting this album ready, and getting situated in NYC, and the time is drawing near when we can show you all what we've been up to. Everyone can dream on their own, but having you all to dream with us makes us the luckiest guys in the world, and we're gonna do this thing ;). Thanks for all your continued support, and we'll be back soon to say hello. I hope you are all doing well, living and loving, and I look forward to the time when our paths cross again. Special thanks to our roommates at 2586 46th St., Lauren, Eric, and Anne Marie, for holding it down and fighting the good fight with us. We'll talk soon, be good ;).
Nate
