Hello there one and all, allow myself to introduce myself; my name is Dave, an associate of your favorite rock trio and mine, 28N. This journal entry was supposed to be done around a week or so ago, but my rigorous work schedule at college was keeping me mighty busy. So here's the rundown of what happened when 28N rocked the house in Fredonia, NY on Feb. 4th and Boston, MA on Feb. 11th.
It all started off in Fredonia when 28N made a return to their old stomping grounds. It was a special evening for everybody involved, as former lead axe Rio joined the band onstage for rocking renditions of old favorites such as Sleepwalker and The Dive, along with playing soon to be classics So Predictable and (A) Song. Muldoon's rocked well into the night, even after the band had finished their set along and a few encores that they hid up their sleeve. I'd like to thank everyone that came to that show, along with the 34 Gardener Crew for coming back and 28N sponsor E.A. Sauers making a surprise appearance; it was nice to see everybody again. After the show was over and done with Rio, Nate, Lowell and myself were invited back to The Best Western to trash hotel rooms and party all night long. Much to our shagrin there was no trashing of any hotel rooms, perhaps next time; but a good time was still had by all.
The rest of the weekend was dedicated to having a good time and taking it easy. On Saturday Rio, Nate, Lowell and myself made a trip to Pennsylvania to purchase some alcohol for Rio & Rob's highly anticipated Super Bowl party. We returned back to Fredonia and started the evening off right with a few beers at Rio's homestead. A slew of people convened at 40 Center later that evening to drink some brew and put ourselves in the right mindset before enjoying the night scene in Fredonia. As the evening progressed, our minds and behavior digressed; let's just blame it on over indulgence. But it was a fun evening nonetheless. Sunday rolled around and most of the day was wasted on watching hours upon hours of Super Bowl pre-game coverage and recovering from the night before. For the game we went over Rio & Rob's for thier extravaganza and I must say that it was the best Super Bowl party that I've been to; too bad the game wasn't as good. After the game I bid adieu to Nate, Lowell and Eric; it was nothing too emotional, we were all heading to Boston next weekend.
On Thursday night Dustin and I began the journey to Boston and headed for Rochester so that we could spend the evening at Pat's house and pick up the rest of the motley crew that were also making the trek. Early Friday morning, Dustin, Jeff, Pat, Tim L. and I left for what we though was going to be around a 6 hour drive. We made a pit stop in Syracuse so that we could get a bite to eat, and the only place to eat in the Carousel Mall is Hooters...; ) The weird thing was that there was quite a few women and children eating there when we walked in, I'm not quite sure what that was all about. After gorging ourselves with the finest meats and cheeses, we continued on our way. After smooth sailing all the way through New York and Massachusetts, we hit one massive traffic jam getting off the Turnpike. Some people couldn't control themselves during this hour wait and proceeded to urinate in a Gatorade bottle and another decided that relieving themselves on the off ramp in a traffic jam was a good idea; I won't name names though. We finally made it to Jeff's friend Kristen's house just in time to get ready for the show and to get some drinks in us so that we would be in prime cheering condition when we arrived at the show. After getting off of the subway, we were about five to six blocks away from the bar that 28N was playing at and figured that we had plenty of time to make it their. That was until Eric gave us a call and let us know that the band was about four songs into their set; after hearing that, Dustin, Pat, Tim L. and I sprinted the rest of the way to the bar. This was definitely more exercise than I had anticipated on this trip and I needed an oxygen tank when I arrived at the Skybar. When we arrived at the bar, 28N had half their set left; which was disappointing because we wanted to see the entire show, but at least we still got to see some of it. 28N sounded phenomenal and rocked their asses for the crowd of strangers that greeted the bands music with enthusiastic roars of approval. 28N and their two crews from NYC and Fredonia hung around the Skybar to listen to the rest of the bands and to do some drinking; and let me tell you, it doesn't get much better than drinking Magic Hat #9 on tap. Dustin, Jeff, Pat, Tim L. and I, under the guidance of our tour guide Kristen, left the Skybar and went to Quincy Market to see what other Boston bars had to offer us. The other bar that we went to offered us a bouncer that hated New Yorkers and their ID's and a last call at 1:30 a.m. On the bright side, I was with good friends, we got to see some historical sites in Boston and I had my picture taken with a statue of Red Auerbach (he coached the Boston Celtics in the 50's and 60's for those of you who don't know who he is). After we left the bar, we met back up with everyone else at Dayle's house, where we played board games until the wee hours of morn.
After saying goodbye to everybody on Saturday morning and thanking them for a wonderful weekend, the fivesome that made the long journey from western NY were ready to leave Boston and head back home. But before we left, we decided that we wanted to have a tour of Fenway Park, home of the 2004 World Series Champions the Boston Red Sox. I would recommend taking tours of baseball parks, very interesting; but that's just one man's opinion. The trip to Boston is not one that I will soon forget and I'd like to thank Dustin for driving, Kristen and Dayle for letting people crash at their places and 28N for rocking; make sure to catch a show soon, because you won't regret it.
Keep on Rockin' in a Free World,
Dave

When In Rome
Hey everyone-
It’s about that time again…journal entry time!! This entry is going to be a little different. For starters I am not a member of 28N, but who wouldn’t wanna be? Those boys are hotties especially since Nate starting wearing eyeliner, but that’s another story. This is Lauren- friend, fan, and roomie. I have the luxury of being around the boys every waking moment and I can tell you it never gets boring. It’s always interesting when Nate is running around in his stylish boxers, hanging around with Lowell and his butter buns, and Kris yelling at us to be quiet ‘cause he’s trying to sleep in his little cubbyhole behind the futon. We won’t even get into how we spend endless nights having tea in Wonderland (just call me Alice)…we don’t want people to talk. ; )
The boys have been very busy since they last talked to you. They are even bigger rock stars now and are taking NYC by storm. The record deal is sneaking up on them. They are just churning out the hits. That’s baby making music, that’s what that is. MTV all day people… MTV all day. They are now playing venues like The Bitter End (thanks Deanna). 28N rocked the house at that show (no surprise). I think it had something to do with Lowell’s sexy hat. Nate forgot some of his words, but no one really noticed (not even him) and we all drank heavily. A banner night for all. They packed the house and acquired several new groupies. Beware of random girls who write deep poetry for you, Nate. They could be dangerous. Even The Dave, tour manager extraordinaire, graced us with his presence. It was hot.
Christmas and New Year’s came and went. Everyone went home for Christmas. The boys spent time in Newcomb chasing deer. What else would they be doing? This is what it has come down to. We are so broke, we are killing our own food… times are tough. We are setting up a charity and are accepting donations if anyone’s interested… it was worth a shot. Dash came to visit a couple days before New Year’s and it was good to see him (he’s a pimp). Everyone was here for New Year’s Eve, except Lowell and Anne Marie, they went back home for some more venison. Romeo, Jake, Butchie, Jess, and Jessica came and stayed with us and we gave them the complete NYC experience. A little drama never hurt anybody. What can we say? We didn’t really need to work at Planet Hollywood. Who needs a job you are overqualified for anyway? We also got to see the ball drop, well… some of us and we rocked out to Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” … yes Deanna and I got Nate to dance like a little school girl. It was bananas ; ) (like that Eric?)
Nate’s still doing his solo acoustic thing at Biddy Early’s every Sunday night. He’s learning some country songs and pretending he’s Ryan Cabrera. All those college kids don’t know what hit ‘em. If only he would stop forgetting equipment every time he goes, he would be golden. Driving back and forth in the Dodge Stratus has been stellar, only when we are not getting pulled over by the NYPD and when Nate stops running red lights, Kris almost had an aneurysm. Oh, those Stengrevics brothers sure are fun to drive with. The boys have a lot of shows coming up including one in Fredonia at Muldoons on February 4th. They’ll get to see the BOB’S and I’m sure they will party so hard they won’t remember much. But I think that sums up college at Fredonia. Wait… what happened? What did I do? Oh well. You can also check them out at Arlene’s Grocery in NYC on February 19th at 11pm. They will also be hitting up Boston February 11th at Sky Bar. Maybe they will finally dedicate a song to Anne Marie. It’s also a chance for them to show Bean Town what they got and see some old college friends. It’ll be dope. We hope to see everyone there. We miss all your bright, smiling faces. The boys thank everyone for all their support and want everyone to keep on rockin. They also want to thank everyone who has donated money to the band, it’s more than appreciated. After all, they are doing it real big…HUGE. I have something to tell you. If you like it you can take it, if you don‘t send it back. Our apartment smells of rich mahogany and I would like to invite you to a party in my pants. Oh, this is awkward. The rest as they say …is when in Rome.
Stay Classy,
Lauren

Tryptophan
Where to start? Well...between fending off autograph seekers and sifting through piles and piles of potential seven figure record deals, there just isn't much time for the men of TwentyEightN to live a "normal" life. Seriously, would somebody please put a tent on this circus. I suppose I'll get used to all this someday, but right now I long for the days when I was just a "Regular Joe" and not the "next big thing" in the biz!
The paragraph above was full of lies. I apologize. The truth is we're all poor as hell and living in an apartment in Queens, NY. Sounds glamorous, no? Looking on the bright side, we're chasing our dreams and aren't ready to give up anytime soon. We'll try to keep our heads above water here in this cesspool you call NYC until we "hit the road" (i.e. "the loop"...covering Newcomb, Minerva, North Creek, Indian Lake. Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake and all points in between!!!!) with our posse in the Summer of '05, when we can finally get out and do what we were meant to do...play music as our means of survival.
Well loves, I'll let you go now. I'm off on an expedition which begins Monday. I'll be hunting the elusive white-tailed deer (or Odocoileus virginianus if you so desire) in the beautiful Catskill Mountain region. Then I'm off to my Adirondack Mountain home of Newcomb, NY for a gluttonous feast. Hit the turkey hard boys and girls...but if you do, dont' get behind the wheel. Too much turkey will make you sleepy. Friends don't let friends drive with a stomach full of turkey. Happy Holidays to all y'all.
Blue skies,
Lowell

I understand you've got some cooking tips for us Dianne.
Hello everyone,
I'd first like to give my partner in crime Lowell a shoutout for getting this new fancy journal together. I now have the freedom to post my thoughts to you whenever it feels right........and it does tonight. We played a couple of shows this week, starting in Manhattan and ending in Buffalo. It was a pleasure sharing the stage with Scott Celani, and the guys in More than Me on both evenings, as well as meeting several new bands. I'd like to thank Scott for setting up an amazing event that inspired what I believe was our best performance ever at the Tralf saturday night. We ate and drank, and had a great time, and got to see so many of our old and best friends. We appreciate your support so much, and having you all behind us keeps up dreaming, and makes us want to keep writing songs!! You rock.
My favorite song in Buffalo was "Over". This is a new one that came from a really raw and exposed place, and Kris and Lowell just step up the whole experience for me........and damn....I was really feeling that one!! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
New shows are in the works, and the word on the street is that some amazing artwork is ready to go for the album. I can't wait to see it, and we'll definitely be incorporating it into the new web design as soon as we can.
On a personal note, I love fall, and so the past few weeks have been absolutely amazing. This time of year always gets me, and inspires me, and makes me very aware of where I've been, and what i have to be thankful for. The people that you care about, family and friends, they matter the most. Make sure you let 'em know.;)
Please pass the love ;-),
Nate
Alright i'm back.
p.s. This fancy journal is interactive, so feel free to post comments of your own.
Ooooooooh, I think I dig your stuuuff!

As Kris and Lowell and I cruised down 2nd Ave. in Manhattan in the ever trusty Dodge Stratus we had a realization. It suddenly occurred to us that we were on our way to play our first rock show in NYC at Arlene's Grocery. We did just that on Friday night and it felt amazing!! It was a forty-five minute set packed full of songs off the new EP, as well as a few unreleased "brand spankin' new" songs. Just wanna say thanks to Arlene's for having us and also a huge thank you to everyone who came to see us play. You made our virgin voyage a memorable one and we look forward to many more shows in the near future. Speaking of that, we do have a show in the works for October 20th at Acme Underground with Scott Celani, More than Me, and Jasper. This should be a great night so stay tuned for more details. P.S. We are handing out free discs right now without artwork, so if you want the new stuff for free, get to a show and secure yourself a copy. The real finished and pretty product is coming soon, we'll let you know. Til next time, peace, love, power and progress.

Hey guys,
Lowell and I just arrived back in Queens after a pretty intense road trip to Buffalo. The show at Nietzsche's went incredibly well and all the bands sounded great! Thanks again to Scott Celani for booking the show and to everyone who came to see us. YOU made it a really special night for our band! We owe you a million thanks and couldn't ask for a better group of people...you rock!!!
Eighteen hours in my car has made Lowell and I a little crazy. Not only did we ride 7 hours back and forth, but we also slept in the old Stratus last night after we'd had a few too many at the bar. So anyway, I will end it here, but the show was great and we handed out as many burned copies of the new record as we could produce. If you aren't one of those lucky few, don't worry, the finished product with artwork is on the way!
We've also booked our first full band show in the city at Arlene's Grocery on Sept. 10 and there will be more details to come very soon!! If you live in the area, or wanna come down and visit, we'd love to see you! I'll squeeze a few of you in my bed and the rest, well...the floor's not as bad as it looks! Anyway, 28N is back, go tell somebody!!!
Peace,
Nate

Hey guys,
It's been a few months since we last checked in, but with the new record so close that we can taste it, there seems to be no better time. The days are flying by down here in NYC thanks to a crazy work schedule and our preparations for the release of "This Planet Mercy". This multiple part-time job thing is taking its toll but there's always time to daydream, and time to plan for the 28N explosion that has been a long time in the making.
Last weekend Lowell and I flew up to Buffalo with our roommate Eric to mix some business and pleasure. On the serious side we met with producer Brent Bodrug to listen to some mixes of the five tracks that will be on the new EP. They are well on their way to being the undisputed best work that we've ever produced as band, and we're so proud and excited to show them to you. It will be a little while until we can have all the artwork pressed up with the disc, but hopefully we'll have new music for you all well in advance of the CD release. Make sure you check the website often so that you can get your hands on these new masterpieces!
While in the Buffalo area we also hung it out in our old college town of Fredonia, NY where we had a... "nice" time ;). We hung out with our favorite and only 28N bassist Kris, I got 10 frames of bowling in with Jake and Sully, and we caught up with many, many old friends. Thanks to Dave for hooking us up with a place to stay, for the free binge at Erie dining hall on Friday night, 40 Center for remaining party central, and thanks to everyone who made the whole weekend such an experience.
Now that we are back in the city there is more good news to report. Lowell and I played an acoustic show last weekend at Lunasa on the corner of St. Marks and 1st Ave. which went extremely well. We made some new friends, booked another show there on the 30th of the month, and will have more bookings in the near future. Again, stay tuned and keep coming back here to visit us and find out when and where the 28N shows will be!
Life is good, about to get better, and thanks so much to all of you our family and friends for hanging with us through this hiatus. We've been hard at work getting this album ready, and getting situated in NYC, and the time is drawing near when we can show you all what we've been up to. Everyone can dream on their own, but having you all to dream with us makes us the luckiest guys in the world, and we're gonna do this thing ;). Thanks for all your continued support, and we'll be back soon to say hello. I hope you are all doing well, living and loving, and I look forward to the time when our paths cross again. Special thanks to our roommates at 2586 46th St., Lauren, Eric, and Anne Marie, for holding it down and fighting the good fight with us. We'll talk soon, be good ;).
